Why Men Are Happier
Your last name stays put.
The garage is all yours.
Wedding plans take care of themselves.
Chocolate is just another snack.
You can be President.
You can never be pregnant.
You can wear a white T-shirt to a water park.
You can wear NO shirt to a water park.
Car mechanics tell you the truth.
The world is your urinal.
You never have to drive to another gas station restroom because this one is just too icky.
You don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
Same work, more pay.
Wrinkles add character.
Wedding dress $5000. Tux rental-$100.
People never stare at your chest when you're talking to them.
The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected.
New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle your feet.
One mood all the time.
Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
You know stuff about tanks.
A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.
You can open all your own jars.
You get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
If someone forgets to invite you, he or she can still be your friend.
Your underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.
Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.
You almost never have strap problems in public.
You are unable to see wrinkles in your clothes.
Everything on your face stays its original color.
The same hairstyle lasts for years, maybe decades.
You only have to shave your face and neck.
You can play with toys all your life.
Your belly usually hides your big hips.
One wallet and one pair of shoes, one color for all seasons.
You can wear shorts no matter how your legs look.
You can "do" your nails with a pocket knife.
You have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
You can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives on December 24 in 25 minutes.

Weekend Update
Looks like I haven't posted since before E. visited a week or so back. Time for an update.
The Lord of the Rings exhibition was excellent. If you're in the area and get a chance, be sure to check it out. The costumes were exquisite and the detail put in to each garment and item was so fine, it was obvious they had spared no expense on the movies. Even things that would only be seen on screen for a second, or from a distance, were finely detailed.
I had a great weekend last weekend too. It was July 4th weekend and I had four days off. I spent it alone (at least most of it) but that didn't bother me at all. I guess I'm strange, but I have always been quite happy being on my own. I can always find stuff to do, unlike my sister who always has friends and family around and goes nuts if she's on her own. We were like chalk and cheese growing up.
Last weekend, I mulched every flowerbed in the garden and installed soaker hoses. This involved getting up at oh-dark-thirty in order to get most of the work done before 10:30 or 11 am. I think the garden really appreciated it, we've had temps of 100+ so mulch and water was what it needed.
After that I retreated indoors for the rest of the day and got started with something I've been wanting to do for a long time -- jewellry making. Well, basically just threading beads and making things like necklaces, bracelets, earrings. It was a fun way to pass a few hours, and now I know what I can makeand give everyone for Christmas! LOL!
For July 4th, my neighbor and I went up to the Woodlands and watched the Houston Symphony's Star-Spangled Celebration. We sort of expected fireworks at the end and were mildy surprised when there weren't any (we went up there on Sunday, the 3rd -- fireworks were on the 4th) It didn't matter though, it was a great evening, the weather was perfect and the music was world-class :-)
Another weekend coming up. We've had storms the past couple of days, not sure what we're expecting weather-wise this weekend. We could use some more rain, we're way behind our annual rainfall, but it would be nice if it didn't all come at once!
